Hello Bolly. id lovers. We are back from our Deepavali break. It's movie review time. Our movie for today is an action drama film. ANIMAL starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna.
The film starts when Prodigal son Ranvijay (played by Ranbir Kapoor ) comes back from abroad to settle down. Ranvijay is the only son. He has two sisters. On the day of his dad's birthday his brother-in-law Varun ( played by Siddhant Karnick) asks him to join him to lobby a politician. He refuses so an argument comes up between them with the interference of his sister Reet (played by Saloni Batra). It became a big argument when Reet asked Ranvijay to apologize to Varun which he did. Balbir SIngh, Ranvijay's father (played by Anil Kapoor) is very fond of his son-in-law VArun that he asks him to run their company putting his own son aside. Ranvijay who loves his father very much, decides to leave India with his wife and settles down in the USA.
His father gets shot while in the car so Ranvijay comes back with his family. He then promises he will find out who is the mastermind behind his father's
shooting. The movie then turns into a rollercoaster of drama and fights.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga created a movie which has spurred many emotions from the viewers. The violence is intense, sometimes causing one to close the eyes. Sadly though the movie is not written well. The screenplay seems to be raw and needs to be tightened. New characters are constantly appearing. At the end another character appears too. The film is too long. Although Vanga manages to bring in some suspense it wasn't out of this world. The editing of the films needs some help too. There were two major scenes which were cut off which made me wonder, the continuity to the next scene.
These booboos can all be forgiven with the bombastic, titillating, powerful performance by Ranbir who came up to the standard required by his role. Indeed he gave justice to it. Of course not to forget the outstanding performances of Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and the rest of the cast.
On a note, one dialogue will catch your attention. This is when Ranvijay's wife Geentanjali (played by Rashmika Mandanna ) wears sexy lingerie to allure her husband. He tells her, in his eyes she is attractive in whatever she wears, that there is no need to wear a sexy outfit.
Bolly.id rates ANIMAL with three achas.
